Acts of kindness day!

Acts of kindness day! (some not so random as Jackson pointed out.) The boys packaged up their Halloween candy and added thank you notes for Coast Guardsmen eating at the galley. We baked cookies and took them to the fire station. We taped popcorn to the redbox machine. We bought lunch for the person behind us at chick fil a and since veterans eat free at Golden Corral today, we bought a dinner for their spouse too.

Satsuma Picking

For my birthday I wanted to take the family Satsuma picking. Satsumas are like tangerines and grown locally. Grammz & Auntie were here for the week and we all had a great time. Sawyer was pissed off he did not get HIS OWN 5 gallon bucket full.

All Saints Day

There was a "Saint Parade" at church on Sunday to celebrate All Saints Day. The kids dressed up as their favorite saint. I really enjoyed making their costumes.  Sawyer is St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and Jackson is St. Brendan the Navigator, patron saint of explorers.

Camping

Jackson and Jason went on an overnight campout with Jackson's best friend, Hayden, his father and their church group. Jackson had a blast. They shot bb guns, did archery and shot bottle rockets. Jackson has asked for a real bow and arrow set for Christmas. Jason really enjoyed roughing it too. I'm glad - because mom isn't going to.

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween more times than I can count. We went to the trunk or treat on the Coast Guard base with our friends Alex and Emily. Sawyer had a party and parade at his school and of course we went trick or treating around the neighborhood. Sawyer had 3 wardrobe changes, luckily we already had all of them. Jackson was Bear Grylls - the Ex-British Special Forces, survivalist, Mt. Everest climber. Yep, that kid and pick em.

Skate Party

The boys attended a skating birthday party for our friend and neighbor, Emily. Sawyer can really get around with the help of the wheelie walker. Emily's brother Alex loved to help "take care" of Sawyer. So cute.  Jackson is really mastering skating and wants his next birthday party there.

Field Trips

I went with Sawyer and his class on 2 field trips. We went to the fire house last week and the pumpkin patch this week. His class is so cute. He really enjoyed both trips. It was cool enough for a jacket on the pumpkin patch day which was appropriate. The boy in the red Alabama jacket is Sawyer's buddy, Aiden.

Pink for Prine

Yes, I sent my son to school like that. Jackson's PE teacher is fighting breast cancer so they had a pink day for her. (Mrs. Prine) I did a Zumba master class to raise money for a CG spouse who is also fighting breast cancer. Lots of pink and lots of prayers!

Trophies!

The soccer season is over now and one little soccer player is SUPER excited to get a trophy. The other soccer player is like, whatever.....

Feeling Fallish - sort of

Its hard to get in the Autumn mood when its 80 degrees outside but we are trying. The evenings have cooled off but the days are still pretty hot. We hoped carving pumpkins would help.

Happy Anniversary!!

Jason & I celebrated our 8th anniversary yesterday. We had a nice lunch while the boys were in school and cupcakes!! We got each other a very romantic gift - a generator!! We didn't need it last week with tropical storm Karen, but its something we have been talking about getting and there will always be another storm!

Room Mom

I am the room mom for Jackson's class and I had my first big job last week. Jackson's teacher, Ms. Weaver's birthday was last Friday. We had a fun party for her. She likes Auburn University so I had Sawyer dress like the mascot and bring her balloons. She loved it!! She took "Aubie" around the school to show him off.
