Special Guest

Jackson's class did a month long unit on Gingerbread. They read books, wrote stories and made cookies & houses. I was the special guest in Jackson's class to help them make cookies. The day I came his teacher read a book about runaway gingerbread men before we rolled our dough and cut out our cookies. His class took their cookies to the cafeteria to bake and when the class returned, sure enough, the cookies were missing. Luckily, the cookies left clues all over the school for the kids to find. When we finally found them everyone got to decorate.

Decorating

We had hot chocolate in front of a roaring fire (on TV) while we decorated our Christmas tree. Jackson's best bud Jackson Berry came over to help.

Swimming Lessons

Jackson and Sawyer are taking swimming lessons at the pool on the CG base. This is Sawyer's first time and he was very excited. Daddy stayed close by to supervise at Sawyer's request.

My Birthday cont.

I got just what I wanted for my birthday, a keg party and my first mammogram. One was more fun than the other but both turned out just fine.

My Jerseylicious 35th

Jason got me exactly what I wanted for my 35th birthday party - a keg of Miller Lite and all my friends over with no kids. The Jersey theme was just icing on the cake. It was a super fun night and just what I wanted - complete with red carpet, paparazzi and flip cup.

Rock the Vote

I applied and was appointed to the Cape May City Board of Education in September to fill a vacancy until the coming election. I am also running to fill the position. Here is a sample ballot. My name is on the same ballot as the presidential election!!

Jackson's Play

Jackson's class did a play after the Halloween Parade at his school. The play was The Woman who Wasn't Afraid of Anything and Jackson played a pair of pants. After the wonderful performance, we went back to the classroom for a celebration. I asked Jackson's teacher about the placement of his desk. She said he was located on "talkers row." He gets it honest.

Evacuation

The boys and I evacuated to Mount Laurel, NJ for hurricane Sandy - just outside of Philadelphia. Jason took his cutter up the Delaware River near the Phili airport and rode out the storm there. We are very fortunate not to have any damage from the storm. The boys enjoyed a little vacation at the hotel pool.

Garden

My garden is still producing. I have fall vegetables planted - cabbage, kale, swiss chard, collards and one rouge watermelon that came out of the compost.

Grammz & Auntie Visit!!

Grammz and Auntie came for a visit form NC and stayed 3 nights. They got to see 2 of Jackson's soccer games. The boys stayed with them for 2 nights in temp housing so Jason & I got a mini vacation too. Mom tried really hard to get a picture of Sawyer's famous "pout." As you can see, she got it. We all had a great time and we already miss them so much.

Critter Fest

This weekend daddy came home and we all went to the Cape May Lighthouse for "Critter Fest". The boys got to hold all kids of animals and say a police dog demonstration. They boys and Jason climbed to the top of the lighthouse but I stayed with my feet on the ground.

Activities

I can believe we were in the water a few weeks ago. It is very rainy and chilly today. Jason's crew got these new stand up paddle boards so we had to try them. The boys are also becoming real dare devils at the skate park.

Pelican Place Preschool

Even though he doesn't look very happy, Sawyer loves his new preschool. He walked right in the first day, puckered up to kiss me and said goodbye. It helps that his lady friend, Cara, and new buddy Cooper are in his class.

Party Time

Jackson's birthday party was at the Nature Center.
