So busy....

It seems like we pack so much into a week...the summer is almost over. Sawyer has started speech therapy and is doing well. Jackson goes in with him in the beginning to "help." We are all still trying to get over being sick from last week. Yesterday was Jackson & coach Jason's first soccer practice. It was great and everyone seemed to have a good time. Today we went to the pool with our neighbors and some friends. Jackson had a blast and Sawyer likes hanging out on the steps best. Tonight we are going to the shrimp boil on the Navy base. Tomorrow we have some errands to run and a picnic dinner with some friends on the beach. Friday Sawyer has an Audiology appoinment for his hearing test at the children's hospital. Saturday we leave for West Virginia. Mom & Dean are having a good time in Alaska. The are in an RV and seeing all the sites.

Happy Birthday Coast Guard

Tomorrow is the Coast Guard's birthday so Jackson & I baked a cake and took it to daddy and the crew. Jackson got a boat ride in return. Jason attended the first coach's meeting for soccer and got the uniforms. Jackson was so excited he wore it all day.

Grammz & Auntie!!

We had a great time with Grammz and Auntie during their visit. Each of the boys had a roommate- Grammz slept in Sawyer's room and Auntie slept in Jackson's room. We celebrated Auntie's birthday a few days early with Mexican food and cheesecake. Friday Jackson took them to his favorite place - Monkey Jungle - for some games and bowling with his friend Cailey. We miss them already but are glad they got home safe.

TOO Hot!

It has been a hot week and the Fealys are doing what we can to stay cool. The boys have been wrestling in the house with daddy and playing on the slip & slide. Even Marley got a new hair cut. Sawyer is a pro walker now.

Sawyer Update

Sawyer (a.k.a. Tater Tot) had an appointment with the pediatrician today to discuss his speech and language development. He has no words right now and although we know he understands a number of words and commands, makes no audible consonant sounds. He used to make the "M" and "D" sounds but stopped. The pediatrician has referred us to an Audiologist and Speech Therapist. Dr. Boston said she knows he can hear (we know that too) because he knows his name and responds to simple commands but we don't know how well. We are a little concerned because of the string of ear infections he had in the fall & winter. She also said that some kids just take longer to talk, especially when they have an extrovert older brother. Jason & I have decided to error on the side of caution, especially since Tricare foots the bill. More to come....

Summer....

This week Jackson has been at VBS with his neighbors and has had a blast. It is so tired that I have had to wake him up in the mornings to get ready. The pics are from last week - the zoo and a playdate with his lady friends. Sawyer is trying to master using a spoon but we have a ways to go.

Wilmington Visit

We ended the week with the haunted pub crawl for Autumn's Bachlorette Party and a day on the boat at Masonboro celebrating the 4th with some friends. It was a great trip but we are glad to be home in our own beds.

More Beach

We spent some time soaking up the sun at the pier, on the boat and in the pool.

More Beach

Jason, Jackson & I went to Myrtle Beach and visited the Nascar Speedway and Broadway at the beach. Sawyer stayed home with the holders.

Beach Cont.

We had so much beach fun. We played in the pool and celebrated GG's birthday.

Good News!!

Sawyer DOES NOT have Hirschsprung's Disease. His test show no nerve damage. He is just a very constipated little boy and will be on Mirilax & special diet indefinitely. We are so happy.

Holy Poop

Today was Sawyer's barium enema at Wolfson's Children's Hospital. It was traumatic for both of us but the best part is that its over! We should have results in a few days. His Cystic Fibrosis test is normal. Sawyer was a trooper and came home for a 3 hour nap. He woke up all smiles.

Happy Father's Day

This morning Jason opened his "presidents" which included "junk" cereal so he and Jackson had a big bowl. We had a leisurely morning of soccer watching on the coach and spent the afternoon at the beach. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Sawyer enjoyed the sand more than ususal. He kept laying on his belly and got very upset when Jackson was reduced to just a head.

Staying cool

It seems that is the goal these days - to stay cool and it has been a challenge. We did an evening trip to the beach for a picnic dinner and quick dip. Sawyer had a great time playing in the sand and Jason took Jackson out in the "deep" water. Today we went to one of Jackson's favorite places with his friend Cailey. We all had a good time in the AC. Sawyer is doing some walking - 5 or 6 steps at a time but I can't seem to catch him with the camera.
