Chasing the Chicken

Today we went to Old Navy because I heard that their Halloween costumes were going to be $2. We got there early - not on purpose, but because that was what time we got out the door. We happened to be part of the first 50 in the store so we got everything half off. I got these costumes for $1 each!!!!!!! When we got home the kids dressed up as a lion, tiger and chicken. They rotated through so everyone got a turn in each one. Then they played chase the chicken. It kept them busy for about 30 minutes so it was definitely worth the $3. Sawyer is getting to be such a big boy. He sits by himself and holds his own bottle - sometimes. We have set up the "pen" in the living room so he has a special place with his toys free of dogs and 3 year olds. Jason took an action pic of me getting ready to leave for my run. I am VERY sore but I am sticking with it. I am wearing a couple of early birthday gifts, my new shoes and that GIANT watch. It keeps my time, has GPS so it tells me how far I've gone and tells me how many calories I've burned among other things.

Costume Day

Yesterday was costume day at school for Jackson. He dressed up and they trick or treated around the offices at school. He was the only Handy Many, but there was a mermaid, minnie mouse, a pirate and Thomas the Train. They were too cute! Sawyer cut another tooth yesterday but is still in a pretty good mood. I walked Monday, ran/walked Tuesday and am run/walking today. I am training for a 5k on Dec. 5th. It's time to get fit!

Grammz & Papa

Grammz & Papa have been here all week and we have had a great time. Today we went to check out the house we will have for Christmas in Ponte Vedra, FL. It is right on the water and looks great. We also had lunch on the Intracoastal Waterway and Jackson got to watch the boats. Sawyer is eating more solid food now including Baby Mum Mums - a Styrofoam looking mini surf board. He loves them. We also had some fun by putting Sawyer in my wooden shoes from Holland and by having a dress rehearsal for Halloween. Jackson is going to be Handy Manny and Sawyer is going to be his hammer, Pat. Grammz and Papa are going back to NC tomorrow.

Doctor appointment & a boat ride

This morning Jason & I took Jackson to a Pediatric Gastroenterology specialist to be checked out for his rectal prolapse. Jason & I were very happy with the doctor. He asked lots of questions, examined Jackson, took ex rays and ordered blood work. We are going to keep him on Mirilax for 6-8 more weeks. The doctor seems to think this is something he will grow out of. If the blood work is normal they will recheck in 6-8 weeks. Jackson was very cooperative and a real charmer. He is in the 90% percentile for height and weight. The doctor wrote, "He seems to be growing great and he is remarkably verbal and well behaved. He clearly does not lack in self esteem." This afternoon we took the Fealys on a boat ride on a Coast Guard boat. Sawyer went too but I'm not sure how much he enjoyed it. Everyone else had a good time.

Fun Fall Day - 85 degrees

I picked Jackson up from school early today so we could have lunch with the Fealys and go to the pool. Jackson & Josie had a great time and Jason's Aunt Judy found Sawyer's first tooth. We went by the pumpkin patch this evening on our way to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. It's hard to get in the mood when it's 85 degrees.

Shakori Hills

We made it back last night at 10:00 from our trip to NC. The festival was tons of fun. We camped and listened to live music. The boys were troopers and Jackson had a blast. It was great to see friends from VA & NC.

Lazy Day

We had a very lazy day today. Jason is not feeling well and I had a touch of it too so we didn't do much today. The boys and I walked to the neighborhood park and it was hot! It's suppose to be in the 90s next week. I told Jackson we could get the Halloween decorations out but I just can't get in the mood. Jason & the kids had a pizza party last night while I went for a Mom's Night Out. Everyone had a good time. We are still enjoying our produce Co-Op. Here's this week's basket.
