Good News!!

Sawyer DOES NOT have Hirschsprung's Disease. His test show no nerve damage. He is just a very constipated little boy and will be on Mirilax & special diet indefinitely. We are so happy.

Holy Poop

Today was Sawyer's barium enema at Wolfson's Children's Hospital. It was traumatic for both of us but the best part is that its over! We should have results in a few days. His Cystic Fibrosis test is normal. Sawyer was a trooper and came home for a 3 hour nap. He woke up all smiles.

Happy Father's Day

This morning Jason opened his "presidents" which included "junk" cereal so he and Jackson had a big bowl. We had a leisurely morning of soccer watching on the coach and spent the afternoon at the beach. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Sawyer enjoyed the sand more than ususal. He kept laying on his belly and got very upset when Jackson was reduced to just a head.

Staying cool

It seems that is the goal these days - to stay cool and it has been a challenge. We did an evening trip to the beach for a picnic dinner and quick dip. Sawyer had a great time playing in the sand and Jason took Jackson out in the "deep" water. Today we went to one of Jackson's favorite places with his friend Cailey. We all had a good time in the AC. Sawyer is doing some walking - 5 or 6 steps at a time but I can't seem to catch him with the camera.

R.I.P. Lesbaru

Jason's new school bus sized truck is here. It is beautiful and he is very excited. Jackson still asks when we are going to take it back. I am very proud of my homemade Lunchable idea and Jackson is thrilled with them too. Jackson is rocking his new Pirate hat Grammz sent from Pittsburgh. He thinks he looks like a pirate in it and says arrrrrr....... a lot.

Poop Update and ZOO

Sawyer had his appointment with the same pediatric GI specialist that Jackson sees on Monday. Dr. George listened to all of our concerns, reviewed Sawyers records and ex-rays from the ER. I felt it was a very thorough appointment. Sawyer's rectal tear is healing nicely and to prevent anymore severe constipation he is on daily Mirilax. The doctor did not see anything major from the exrays but has ordered a few more tests. We will be going to Wolfson's Children's Hospital next week for a barium enema. The Dr. suggested changing him to skim milk but other than that he said we are doing all the right things with his diet. On Wednesday we made a trio to the zoo with some of our friends and had a great time. Sawyer and Jackson really enjoyed the splash pad. It was a got day but we wanted to enjoy it before public schools get out today.

Weekend

Jason played in a 3 vs. 3 soccer tournament this weekend in Ponte Vedra. The boys and I met him at the fields after a leisurely morning of pancakes and fruit. It was "Florida Hot" on Saturday and it was not pleasant. We sweated profusely and cursed the heat. Jason says his 3 vs. 3 tournament days might be over. I hope he means it. I made a pretty good haul today - original price $88.74, after coupons, $31.13.

What.... a day....

Well it really started last night when Jackson started screaming for Jason at 12:30. I went to check on him and he had diarrhea in his bed. He was freaking out. I called for Jason to come help and he came to the door of Jackson's room and started gagging - thanks for the help honey. I got Jackson cleaned up and back to bed on the floor of our room. He seemed OK this morning but I didn't want to take him anywhere so we stayed home. It was 91 today so we stayed in the house most of the day. When I could not take it anymore I filled the baby pool up and took the boys to the back yard to play. I noticed Marley rolling around in the grass and went to take a look. He was rubbing up on a dead opossum! I got the opossum with a shovel and called Jason at work. I told him to please hurry home because I needed a mental heath break. While we were in the back yard Jackson played in the pool in his underwear, then naked and Sawyer played in a mud puddle. I didn't care because they were both happy. Jason relieved me and I got a well deserved pedicure.
