9/27/2006

The massage, facial & pumped milk in a bottle all worked out wonderfully. I could do that everyday! Last night we tried letting Jackson sleep in his crib. It went pretty well. We are trying to get him into some sort of a routine - lights off at night means sleep, lights on & noise during the day. I fed him twice during the night last night and put him back in his crib. He went to sleep by himself - a first. Jason & I might get some sleep yet. We'll see how tonight goes. I hope I have not jinxed us...

Today was a "chill around the house day." Mommy got caught up on laundry & sleep and daddy worked in the yard. Jackson & Marley worked on tummy time. Mom, Dad & Jackson were up all night again. Mexican food is officially off the safe list. I know, I asked for it. Live and learn. Mommy had a slight melt down Sunday night so Grandma Porter came over last night and hung out with Jackson so Mommy & Daddy could have a big night out to Mexican food and Walmart. Boy, how times have changed.... Tomorrow Mommy has a massage & facial scheduled - thank you very much aunts Punk & Sue - and daddy has Jackson duty. We are going to try pumped milk from a bottle tomorrow while I am gone. We'll see how it goes.

The WV family made it home safely. We all had a great visit down at Kure Beach. Jackson wanted to thank everyone very much for his gifts, especially Aunt Mary & Aunt Roseanne for his new swing.

We have had a very busy week! Tuesday was Jackson's 2 week check up. Everything looks good. He is almost back up to his birth weight which is good and he has grown an inch and a quarter. Jason & I had lots of questions for the doctor but they seemed to be standard first time parent questions. Jackson has had some gas at night and we have discovered it has a lot to do with my diet. I am more restricted now than when I was pregnant! No more broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes or carbonated drinks. Wednesday Jackson's umbilical stump fell off so he can have a regular bath now. The Fealy family has been here all week. Jackson has been getting spoiled by his Grandma Fealy, Aunt Mary, Aunt Jena & Cousin Josie. We all had a great time at Kure Beach. Jason & I are getting used to sleep deprivation. We take turns taking naps and taking care of Jackson. Breast feeding is getting better. I guess I am starting to toughen up. We are still not really on a schedule. We just wait for instructors from the boss - Jackson.

Jackson had lots of visitors today. Kady, Keri & Camden came to visit first. Kady took tons of pictures. I'm sure she will send some. GG & Opah were next. They are very happy great-grandparents. Last was Jim & Joyce. They could not believe how big Jackson is. He is a monster - eats all the time. We has a long night last night. Mom (Grandma) thinks he had bad gas. She came over to hang out with Jackson today while J & I took a nap. I hope tonight goes better. Jason & I am pooped.

Grandma Porter comes over everyday to hold Jackson. He has a way of always falling asleep when she holds him but when mom & dad hold him in the middle of the night he is wide awake. Mom & Dad tried some artsy nudie photos today. Jackson enjoys naked time. He has quite a little personality these days. He has no problem telling you what he does and does not like.

8/13/2006 part deux

He's so cute. I can't stand it!

9/13/2006

Happy Birthday Grandma Fealy!!!! Can't wait to see you and the rest of the Fealy clan. Things are starting to get into a routine around here. We are very much at the mercy of the boss (Jackson) but we are getting it down. Nights are the hardest of course. I am starting to feel like the milk lady. I feed him and then do the hand off to Jason who burps, changes and gets Jackson back to sleep. Did I mention breast feeding is no joke? I know it is worth it and will get easier, but holy sore nipples it hurts! Where does he put it all? He is so little and can drink so much. Jackson & Jason seem to be on the same sleep schedule because they nap together all the time. That gives me some time to get a few things done around the house. It is working out well so far. Mom was here for about a week - a big help. Thanks mom! Jason passed his navigation rules test that he has been studying for so that is a relief. FYI- I have lost 31 of the 60+ pounds I gained during the pregnancy. The first 23 came off easy - giving birth. I hope the rest comes off as quickly.

Mom, Jason, Jackson & I went to Southport for grandparents day and had lunch. It was very nice. Jackson does well in the car, sleeps the whole time. We took a 4 generation picture. Jason is totally in love. He and Jackson are best buds. They share some of the same favorite past times - sleeping, eating & pooping....

He's Here!

Introducing......Jackson Sunder Fealy, born September 5th, 2006 at 11:46 AM - 10 lbs. 2 oz., 21 inches long. Mommy, Daddy & baby are very happy to be home. Baby Jackson is getting used to the world and we are getting to know him. Jason says he is the cutest child ever born, I tend to agree. As you can see, he is already representing WV! We had a pediatrician appointment today and he is perfect. Breast feeding is no joke, but it is going well. We take about 80 pictures a day, so there are more to come.

9/1/2006

We got some news today. I had my ultrasound & doctor's appointment this morning. They have decided that since I am showing only 1 of the 5 cervical labor indicators and since Jackson is measuring 9 lbs. plus, that I will need a C section. Yes, I said 9 pounds or more......I am scheduled for Tuesday at 11:30 unless he decides to make an appearance before that. I was pretty upset at first but I want what is best for both of us. The doctor feels that even if they induce me, I would probably end up having a C- section anyway, so might as well go for it. At least the end is near. My mom & Autumn will spread the word Tuesday if not before.
