12/23/2006

We are down at the beach for Sunder Family Christmas. Omah got her wish of putting Jackson in the manger. My cousins Hannah & Carl (13 &17) are itching to open presents. It looks like Jackson is going to make out like a bandit. The biggest one under the tree is for him.

12/18/2006

We are getting ready for Christmas. I wish it felt a little more like December though. It was 74 here today. Jackson had his picture taken this year for the Christmas cards. He is ready for Santa. We are going down to Southport Friday to spend the week at the beach. GG wants to put Jackson in the manger in the Nativity scene at church. There will be pictures...

12/12/2006

Who is that baby in the mirror? Jackson enjoys looking at himself in the mirror during tummy time. He is getting very strong and can hold his head up. He can role over when he is propped up on something. It won't be long until he is rolling all over the place. Jason has been gone since Sunday moving a boat to VA. He will be back tomorrow. We sure do miss him.

12/5/2006

Jackson is 3 months old today! I can't believe it. It has gone by sooo quickly. We are staying around the house today. It is very cold out - 31 last I checked this morning. Jackson is sitting in his chair watching Ellen and I am hacking away on the computer. He is such a good baby. We started giving Jackson one bottle of formula a day to start getting him ready for me to go back to work in Jan. I was nervous but he seems to like it OK. The first day he turned his nose up a little. It sure does make him have stinky farts! I try to blame them on Jason but he won't have it. Jackson is sleeping pretty well at night. Usually 5-7 hours. He made it 7.5 a few nights ago and I had to go check on him a few times. I was worried but he was fine. We are doing well here in NC - I hope everyone else it too!

11/28/2006

We made it back to NC - 9.5 hours this time. Much better than the 11 hours to get to WV. Traffic was crazy. It was a great visit. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Mary & John's house in the country. Holy skinny curvy roads! We saw deer & wild turkeys. Thank you Mary & Roseanne for all your hard work with the food! Jackson got to play and get spoiled by aunts, uncles, cousins, Grandma Fealy & Nanny. We are glad to be home but can't wait to get back.

11/22/2006

Jackson sort of rolled over by himself yesterday. He had some help from Ellie the stuffed red elephant & gravity. He's up and...over. We are getting ready to leave from WV tomorrow. Going to visit the family and have a big Thanksgiving at Aunt Mary's. We are really looking forward to it.

11/15/2006

What a busy week already. Jackson & I got back today from our trip to visit Frida & Anna in Atlanta. Jackson was a very good passenger on the plane. Several people commented on what a beautiful and good baby he is. Of course we already knew that. Anna and Jackson got along very well. She was happy to have a car seat neighbor in the backseat. We had a good visit but are glad to be home. Traveling is hard work & we missed Daddy.

11/8/2006

We made it through the 2 month check up. I think the shots were more tramatic for me than Jackson. He weighs 13 lbs. 12 ozs. and is 24 inches long. The doctor said everything looks good and gave us some suggestions on how to get him to sleep longer at night. He is doing OK for his age (sleep-wise) but I am ready for a full night sleep. I went out to dinner with my girl friends for my birthday tonight. It was great. Thank you ladies. Jason & Jackson got me a diamond and sapphire ring to go with my wedding set. Sapphire is Jackson's birth stone. They also got me flowers and a card that said "Happy 21st birthday" love, Jackson. Ha, Ha......My family got me a new 19 inch widescreen monitor for the computer so I can spend more quality time doing stuff like blogging and checking out "the Myspace." Thank you family. Today Aunt Punk, Jackson & I went to lunch at Port City Chop House. It was very nice. It has been a wonderful birthday. I'm glad since it is my last.

11/6/2006

We had a wonderful weekend. Jackson celebrated his 2 month birthday yesterday. Where has the time gone? Aunt Punk came over Sunday morning to let me sleep. Jackson definately does not have this sleeping thing mastered yet. We all ate dinner at my mom's yesterday - any early birthday celebration for me. This is my last one - 29. Jackson has his 2 month doctor's appointment on Tuesday. He will be getting his shots. I have a feeling he will not like it. I'll let you know how it goes.

Happy Halloween! Madonna & Guy Richie, with their newly adopted black baby, hung out with the boys from Top Gun Saturday at the Castle Branch Halloween Party. "Mummies's Little Pumpkin" helped pass out candy to the 40 or so trick or treaters that came by last night.

10/30/2006 - From Jackson

Hello all! Jackson here. I wanted to say a few words about my dad. He is really the best dad around. He plays with me and gives me baths. He is very interested in my development and helps me learn new things everyday. He is also really nice to my mommy. Last Friday dad stayed home with me so mom could go out with her girlfriends. Just last night when mom needed a well deserved break, dad put the TV in the bathroom so mom could watch Desperate Housewives from the bathtub. What a guy. Mom and I think we will keep him!

10/27/2006

Jackson slept for 5 straight hours last night. That is the longest stretch he has slept so far. Then he was up for 2 (3:30 - 5:30) then back to sleep. We are getting there. I feel a full night of sleep coming on. It was cold here for a few days but getting back to normal now. Jackson was excited he got to wear his bear hat for the day.

10/24/2006

Today Jackson is 7 weeks old. It has gone by so quickly. He is developing quite a personality. He knows what he wants and when he wants it. If only Jason & I knew. We are still having some sleeping issues. He was doing well but the last 2 nights have been trying. Maybe tonight will be better. In the mornings Jackson sits in his chair and watches TV or the ceiling fan while mommy takes a shower and gets ready. He is such a beautiful boy and I love him so much.

10/19/2006

Jackson & I have really enjoyed this week. Jackson is spoiled rotten. He will be in serious withdrawal Monday when it is just he & I. Judy, Marshall & the kids have been fishing. Judy caught a flounder almost as big as Jackson. Opah & Jackson have been watching baseball - in their baseball outfits of course. Everyone has been taking advantage of the beautiful weather for some walks on the beach. We will be taking aunt Sue to the airport tomorrow and then home.

10/14/2006

Jackson was baptized today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, NC. He was a very good boy through the whole ceremony. Aunt Gail stood as Godmother. We celebrated afterward at the beach house with dinner and a cake.

10/13/2006

Tomorrow starts Sunder Family Fun Week in Oak Island, NC. Jackson & I will be down for the week. Jason has to work but will stop by for a few visits. I am really looking forward to the week - babysitters galore! I plan on catching up on some sleep. Sue is in from California and Judy & crew are coming from Boone on Sunday. Tomorrow is Jackson's baptism at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport - the same church where Jason & I were married. We may not be able to post pics till next week - sorry Aunt Mary.

Bath time! What a cute butt! Today Jackson is 5 weeks old. It has gone by so quickly. I had my check up with the ob/gyn today. I am doing just fine. Tomorrow Aunt Sue comes to visit.

10/9/2006

What a busy weekend! Sunday was our 1 year anniversary. Jason got me these beautiful flowers. It was also my college roommate, Laura's wedding in Hilton Head, SC. Jason, Jackson, Mom & I traveled down Sunday and mom babysat while Jason & I attended the wedding. Laura looked gorgeous. She & Matt went out of their way to make the day special for us too since we will be sharing the same anniversary. I got to see some friends from college that I have not seen since graduation. It was a good trip. Jackson did great in the car - slept the whole way - only woke up to eat and get fresh panties.

10/5/2006

Jason has taking over bath duty which we all seem to be happy about. Jackson seemed to enjoy his last one - a definite contrast from when mommy does it. I think Jason has found a new job. Today was a busy day for Jackson and I. We went to Southport with Aunt Punk on the ferry. Jackson seemed unimpressed with his first ferry ride. He met the entire faculty and staff of Brunswick Academy thanks to Grams and had lunch with Opah & GG. He has quite the social schedule. I am just trying to keep up. Tomorrow I hope we can just stay around the house and catch up on sleep.

10/3/2006

Mommy had a sleepless night again. Jackson really has his days and nights mixed up! He also had a bad case of the farts today. It does make for cute faces!

10/2/2006

Sorry for the delay. The last few days have been a little hectic. Jason started back to work today so Jackson & I were by ourselves. We managed. Jackson is having "sleeping at night" issues so it takes us a while to get going in the morning. He's got sleeping during the day down just fine. We went to the doctor today because he sounded congested to me and Grandma Porter. He is fine. The doctor said that is just how they breathe at this age. Jackson has gained 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks - that's a lot! The doctor thinks he may be "over feeding." We are going to have to start getting used to a pacifier instead of feeding him every time he cries. The pics are from today. Jackson likes to sit in his chair in the morning and watch the Ellen Show.

9/27/2006

The massage, facial & pumped milk in a bottle all worked out wonderfully. I could do that everyday! Last night we tried letting Jackson sleep in his crib. It went pretty well. We are trying to get him into some sort of a routine - lights off at night means sleep, lights on & noise during the day. I fed him twice during the night last night and put him back in his crib. He went to sleep by himself - a first. Jason & I might get some sleep yet. We'll see how tonight goes. I hope I have not jinxed us...

9/25/2006

Today was a "chill around the house day." Mommy got caught up on laundry & sleep and daddy worked in the yard. Jackson & Marley worked on tummy time. Mom, Dad & Jackson were up all night again. Mexican food is officially off the safe list. I know, I asked for it. Live and learn. Mommy had a slight melt down Sunday night so Grandma Porter came over last night and hung out with Jackson so Mommy & Daddy could have a big night out to Mexican food and Walmart. Boy, how times have changed.... Tomorrow Mommy has a massage & facial scheduled - thank you very much aunts Punk & Sue - and daddy has Jackson duty. We are going to try pumped milk from a bottle tomorrow while I am gone. We'll see how it goes.

9/24/2006

The WV family made it home safely. We all had a great visit down at Kure Beach. Jackson wanted to thank everyone very much for his gifts, especially Aunt Mary & Aunt Roseanne for his new swing.
